We are seeking a Category I Chiller Technician (Journeyman) in Syracuse, NY to maintain and repair large-tonnage chilled water systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial customers.
Impact
- Keep chilled water plants online through preventive maintenance.
- Prevent costly failures by catching performance drift early.
- Improve plant efficiency across cooling towers, pumps, and controls.
- Support customer capital planning with accurate equipment condition reporting.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on centrifugal, screw, and reciprocating chillers.
- Diagnose mechanical, refrigeration, and electrical faults in chilled water systems.
- Repair or replace compressors, evaporators, condensers, and valves.
- Conduct performance tests and log operating data.
- Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and control drawings.
- Handle refrigerants in line with EPA and safety requirements.
- Document all service work and parts used accurately.
- Advise customers on repair options and recommended follow-up.
