Casino Accounting ManagerThe Casino Accounting Manager supervises property accounting functions; supervising non-gaming and gaming revenue accounting & auditing and anti-money laundering auditing. Ensures these areas are equipped with adequate equipment, training and support.Job Focus:Performs all functions in accordance with applicable Gaming Control Board, Federal and other laws and gaming regulations and SAHARA Las Vegas policies and proceduresPlan and monitor the Accounting department's general accounting for revenue and auditing reporting; internal controls, statistical reporting, daily distribution of non-gaming and casino performance, and reconciliationsReview and approve general ledger journal entries prepared by staff. Direct the reconciliation of general ledger accounts and prepares them for review by management, ensure accurate and timely reportingPrepare and analyze daily paperwork and reports; develop and implement recommendations for improved efficiencyEnsures the highest possible standards of guest service are provided and listens and responds to external and internal guests concerns and questionsPerforms hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, performance evaluations establishes goals and objectives of accounting staffResponsible for the monthly and annual processes to close the general ledger and generate financial reportsWork with all levels of management, including executives and consulting with key business stakeholdersWork with internal audit, internal compliance, and independent public accountants and various regulatory agencies including the Nevada Gaming Control Board and Internal Revenue ServiceEvaluate processes to improve efficiency that would result in cost savings and greater accuracyResponsible for all tax filings with regulatory agenciesEnsures adequate coverage for the Revenue Accounting teams; oversees the supervision of staff, including work allocation, scheduling, training and problem resolutionContributes to departmental effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues and goals, recommending courses of actions, and implementing directivesEnsures and maintains a system of internal controls for all departments and administrative controls as related to team members, policies and procedures, AML program, NRS, Regulations, MICS, and ICSOn a monthly basis, participates in the month end process of reviewing preliminary financial statements with department heads and resolves any unknown or unexplained items, acting as a liaison between accounting and operationsLiaisons with IT to resolve any system problems related to systems used by the departmentCoordinates activities with external and internal auditorsConducts internal audits of data to ensure accuracy and integrityEstablishes, or recommends to management, major financial objectives and policies for the casino.

Keeps leadership and other departments informed of status of activities and of significant events and problems by attending meetings, submitting reports, and meeting individually as necessaryImproves staff effectiveness by: coaching, counseling, training and recommending disciplinary action for team members; and planning, delegating, monitoring, and appraising job tasks and results in a timely mannerCoordinates the technology needs of the office; ensures staff is fully trained on systems, policies and proceduresCommunicates with and represents the organization to external agencies, consultants and other organizations and individualsConducts annual department evaluation and assessments of department components and staff according to established policies, procedures, and regulations for the accounting teamContributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as requiredAttends, and satisfactorily completes all required training as assigned and requiredOther duties as assignedDesired Qualifications:Four year degree in Accounting or related area from a four year college or university or four to six (4-6) years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceA Minimum of five (5) years supervisory experienceKnowledge and ability interpret and evaluate internal controls and extensive experience in writing financial and internal control proceduresDemonstrated ability to apply analytical reviews and ability to interpret significant data relationshipsPrevious gaming industry (Resort/Casino) accounting and supervision experience is preferablePrevious experience with Synkros and Infinium or related Accounting system preferableExcellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and knowledge of front of house casino operations as related to accountingExcellent communication skills, customer service and team oriented, self-starter, and professional maturityStrong organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills and exhibit composure and professionalism while under pressureAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting constant deadlines and maintaining strong attention to detailsMust have the ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal formsA professional demeanor and attire is to be maintained at all timesMust have strong interpersonal and organizational skillsAbility to working independently with little to no supervisionMust be able to perform in a team environmentPossess the ability to motivate and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of staff and leadershipPrevious experience in a high-end luxury Gaming or Hospitality environment is desiredMust have exceptional time management skillsA valid Nevada Gaming License is required and must be obtained before entering this positionMust be 21 years of age or older
