Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Manage patient cases from initial contact to coverage approval. Conduct outbound calls to patients and insurance carriers, perform benefit verifications, resolve complex payer issues, and guide patients through financial assistance options to ensure timely access to specialty medications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor system accounts for new cases and steward patient accounts through final coverage determination.
- Perform outbound calls to patients to confirm coverage approvals/denials, co-pays, and dispensing specialty pharmacy details.
- Contact insurance companies to verify coverage, enter benefit information, and assist with prior authorizations.
- Resolve patient questions regarding program assistance, alternative funding, and foundation support.
- Accurately transcribe detailed case notes into internal software while conversing on the phone.
- High School Diploma or GED required (additional education or degree preferred).
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with real-time phone transcription skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, video conferencing tools (Zoom, Teams), and web navigation.
- Dedicated home office with hardwired high-speed internet (15 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload minimum).
- Preferred: Previous healthcare experience in pharmacy benefits, Medicare/Medicaid/Commercial plans, or prior authorizations.
