SUMMARY
Ensures compliance in standards in evaluation, assessment, treatment, and service delivery to clients of the Street Outreach & Advocacy Program Basic Center (SOAP BC). Collaborates with the management team to ensure delivery of quality services.
JOB DUTIES

  • Provides advocacy and referral services and serve as a liaison with local community agencies.
  • Interviews and screens clients for services.
  • Creates and maintains clients file according to established policies and procedures.
  • Provides information to the general public regarding program.
  • Compiles and submits monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.
  • Attends training and specialty training as it applies to this position.
  • Works as part of a team providing quality care following departmental policies and procedures.
  • The incumbent of this position must work well under pressure, meeting multiple and conflicting deadlines. The incumbent shall at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors and clients.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY
  • Familiarity with human resources policies and procedures.
  • Ability to report to work in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of customer service concepts and practices.
  • Understanding and sensitivity to diverse cultures and lifestyles, as well as cross-cultural communication styles.
  • Skill in operating personal computer utilizing a variety of computer software.
  • Skill in managing multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and consumers.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with teams.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience)
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) years of work experience in the social service field.
  • Strong understanding and sensitivity to diverse cultures and lifestyles, with demonstrated experience working effectively with Alaska Native populations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience)
  • Associate's degree in human development, social services, counseling or related field.
