Responsibilities

• Obtain authorizations with payors as the primary role, focusing on utilization review, discharge planning, and related activities.
• Work off Work Queues; no bedside/patient care required.
• Ensure medical necessity from admission through discharge and post-discharge.

Required Skills/Experience

• Recent experience in case management, utilization management, or discharge planning.
• Experience with UR and payor mix, Medicare, PPO, IPA plans, delegated, full and shared risks.
• Proficiency with handling authorizations and payor communications.

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Charge experience in a hospital setting.
• Teaching Hospital, Community Hospital, or LTAC experience.

Required Credentials

• Current and valid license (California required for submission).
• Flu vaccination required after submission (declinations accepted for religious, medical, or personal reasons).
• 3 days maximum time off.
• 2 references from last 12 months (Manager/Supervisor type) – required for submission.
• Proof of identification required.
