Carpentry Technician

Swartz Restoration & Emergency Services is a trusted leader in disaster restoration and emergency services. We don't just rebuild houses; we help our customers put their lives back together. We are currently seeking a CARPENTRY TECHNICIAN with a minimum of 3 years of proven carpentry experience, to provide a range of construction skills and renovation skills to help restore residential and commercial properties damaged by water, fire, smoke, wind, and other perils. The ideal candidate is a problem solver who has a wide range of remodeling skills, a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Carpentry Technician Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of proven professional carpentry or remodeling experience.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen (pre-employment and random)
  • Must reside within a 30-mile radius of the Swartz Restoration office in Lima, OH
  • Experience with drywall, trim work, painting, cabinetry, flooring (tile, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, etc.), and other general home improvements/remodeling.
  • Must be proficient using carpentry tools and equipment & own a set of standard hand & power tools

  • The ability to interact with our customers on a professional & friendly level and ensure client satisfaction at all times.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow directions
  • Dedicated to consistently perform quality work
  • Must be willing to participate in the rotating on call schedule to respond to emergency jobs on evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities/Job Duties:
  • Complete assigned punch list repairs in reconstruction projects while following the scope of work and adhering to project timelines. (Workload will focus on finish carpentry).
  • Complete work orders as given by project manager
  • Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes
  • Complete trim projects (baseboard, casing, crown, etc.)
  • Painting, staining, finishing
  • Complete light HVAC, plumbing, and electrical projects
  • Complete kitchen and bath remodels
  • Complete assigned jobs within budget and on time
  • Complete jobs with mitigation department as requested
  • Clean up assigned job sites; may be doing a days' worth of work on different job sites
  • Keep equipment clean and organized in the shop and in the vehicle
  • Responding to emergency calls on evenings and weekends (board ups, setting mitigation equipment, tarping roofs, and securing the property)
  • Other duties as assigned
