CarpenterFacilities Department12 Month PositionPosition Summary: Responsible for performing a variety of carpentry duties within the District, including repairing equipment, hanging drywall and making cabinets and shelves.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent. Post-high school vocational study preferredRequires 2-5 years of job-related prior experience.Requires completion of Asbestos Awareness ProgramBasic math skills required.Working knowledge of building codes.Working knowledge of carpentry trade terminologyWorking knowledge of door hardwareEssential Duties:Installs, maintains and replaces doors and door jambs.Designs, fabricates and installs and finishes cabinets, countertops and bookshelves.Installs and repairs drywall.Performs concrete repair, including form and finishing work.Installs drop ceilings.Assists in fire code and Health Department inspections, including performing necessary upgrades to facilities.Installs and repairs outdoor equipment.Performs preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.Orders supplies for carpentry projects.Assists maintenance personnel as neededFabricates and Installs aluminum flashing, soffits and siding.Repairs bleachers.Serves as substitute custodian as needed.Compensation for experience is considered, Classified Salary ScheduleApplication deadline: Open until filledMehlville School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer and E-Verify ParticipantWe appreciate your interest in Mehlville School District!
