CarpenterUnder occasional supervision, performs carpentry functions in District schools in accordance with applicable codes, specifications, schedules and standards. Reports to the Crew Leader or Manager of Maintenance Services.Specific duties and responsibilities include conducting general carpentry work, installing drywall and trim, repairing doors and hardware, constructing cabinets, shelves and other custom fixtures, forming and pouring concrete, installing and repairing ceiling tiles, installing carpet and floor tile, countertops, marker boards, and tack strips. Assembles scaffolding to a height of 30 feet.
Receives, reviews, prepares and/or submits various records and reports including work orders, diagrams, specifications, and daily logs. Operates a variety of equipment such as a two-way radio, telephone, general carpentry tools, power tools, hand tools, and vehicle. Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, co-workers, District administrators and staff, students, and contractors.
Complies with all federal laws, state statutes, Board policies, administrative rules, and directives.Minimum education and training requires a high school diploma supplemented by two years of experience in carpentry or construction, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
