CarpenterApartment Services, Inc. – East Baltimore City, MD Full-Time | Travel Between Properties May Be RequiredJob Overview: Apartment Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled and dependable Carpenter to join our maintenance team.

This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of carpentry, renovation, and repair projects throughout our residential apartment communities. The ideal candidate has experience with apartment renovations, unit turnovers, drywall repair, cabinetry, doors, windows, and general construction work. This role offers an opportunity to utilize your craftsmanship while helping maintain high-quality apartment homes for our residents.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, repair, and maintain a variety of building materials and finishes, including:DrywallCabinetsDoors and windowsTile and flooringInsulationTrim and finish carpentryComplete apartment renovations, unit turns, and move-in ready repairsMeasure, cut, shape, and install materials according to project specificationsRebuild and install cabinets, doors, and other interior fixturesPerform drywall installation, patching, finishing, and repairsComplete touch-up painting related to repair and renovation workMaintain tools and equipment in safe working conditionAssist with general maintenance tasks and property improvement projects as neededDocument completed work and communicate maintenance needs to managementDeliver excellent customer service while working in occupied apartment homesMaintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, Fair Housing regulations, and industry best practicesAssist with snow and ice removal during winter weather events, including salting, shoveling, and pretreatment activitiesMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and maintenance shopSafeguard all property keys and company assetsTravel between company properties as neededPerform additional duties as assignedQualificationsStrong knowledge of carpentry tools, materials, and construction techniquesExperience with residential renovations, apartment turns, and property maintenanceExcellent drywall repair and finishing skillsExperience with kitchen and bathroom renovations, including ceramic tile installationExperience installing and repairing interior doors, cabinets, and trimAbility to read measurements and perform accurate calculationsStrong organizational, communication, and time management skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamRequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredMinimum 2 years of carpentry, renovation, construction, or apartment maintenance experience preferredValid driver's license requiredReliable transportation required during all scheduled shiftsMust provide reliable phone and email contact informationAbility to lift up to 50 pounds regularlyAbility to bend, kneel, squat, climb, reach, and work in confined or elevated spacesMust supply and maintain tools necessary to perform daily job dutiesMay be required to work at multiple company locationsBenefits Offered:Transportation AllowanceCompany-Provided Cell Phone8 Paid HolidaysPaid Funeral Leave & Jury Duty LeaveHealth Benefits (eligible 1st of month after 60 days):Medical, Dental & Vision InsuranceEmployer-paid Life InsuranceVoluntary Life Insurance optionsShort-Term & Long-Term DisabilityFlexible Spending Account (FSA)Retirement (eligible after 3 months, age 21+):Traditional & Roth 401(k) optionsAdditional Perks:Employee Recognition ProgramDiscounted Housing (more information available at interview)
