Cardiovascular Ultrasound Tech II, Per Diem Days, 7a - 7p, Atlantic Health, Chilton Medical Center

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive ultrasound exams. Follows established protocols to verify, plan, set up, perform, and report appropriate examinations. Verifies identity and informs and observes patient during procedure to ensure patient education, cooperation, and safety. Assists in continuing quality assurance and performance improvement.
• Completes clerical tasks associated with ultrasound tests. Records all testing information accurately, completely, and in a timely manner. Ensures that critical results are reported promptly and accurately, following established policy. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Communicates with physicians, patients, and other center personnel in a pleasant and informative manner. Makes recommendations to supervisor on related duties, policies, and procedures.
• Enhances environment of teamwork. Demonstrates motivation, enthusiasm, acceptance of responsibility, and personal accountability. Engages in problem solving in difficult situations and seeks suggestions in a positive manner. Seeks to mentor and develop others.
• Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner. Cleans patient areas after each use and assists in maintaining a clean environment in the lab. Notifies supervisor of stocking needs and equipment issues. Takes responsibility for lab opening and closing procedures when appropriate. Cleans and maintains all equipment according to Hospital Infection Control policies and procedures.
• Identifies own learning needs and responds to department needs. Attends in‑services, lab and departmental meetings. Strives to increase proficiency in testing and other lab procedures. Suggests new, efficient or economical techniques, procedures, and processes.

Echo Sonographer II

• Includes skills of Sonographer Level 1+, Strain & Pedoff, Basic 3D, Stress Echo.
• Consistently takes initiative to develop professionally; exhibits positive attitude; increases engagement; shifts focus from internal to external teams, departments, and organization; demonstrates HRO culture by identifying patient safety issues.
• Assist with IAC, attend ASE Member conferences, serve as preceptor.
• Complete CVT PACT.

Vascular Tech II

• Venous insufficiency and/or arterial duplex and/or vein mapping +/- radials.
• Consistently takes initiative to develop professionally; exhibits positive attitude; increases engagement; shifts focus from internal to external teams, departments, and organization; demonstrates HRO culture by identifying patient safety issues.
• SVU member, assist with IAC, serve as preceptor.
• Complete CVT PACT.

Qualifications

• Registry through CCI or ARDMS.
• Training/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

Additional Skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communication, basic proficiency with computer systems.
• Echo Sonographer II.
• Registered Sonographer.
• Vascular Tech II.
• RVT / RVS.
