Cardiovascular Intensive Care Nurse (RN) | Austin, Texas

An exciting contract opportunity is available for skilled registered nurses with a strong background in pediatric cardiovascular intensive care. This role centers on delivering exceptional care to critically ill children in a specialized ICU setting. Candidates should bring expertise in advanced cardiac monitoring and interventions, along with up-to-date certifications.

Qualifications and Experience

• Current RN license with at least 2 years of full-time pediatric cardiovascular ICU experience
• Experience managing high-acuity patients in a Pediatric CVICU setting
• Familiarity with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 for ICU, 1:2 for high-acuity, and 1:3 for stepdown/non-ICU status
• Valid and current Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to pediatric patients with complex cardiovascular needs
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, administer medications, and initiate interventions according to established care plans
• Collaborate efficiently with physicians, therapists, and support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Vigilantly monitor vital signs and respond to changes in patient status with accuracy and urgency
• Communicate effectively with patients families, offering updates and education as needed
• Maintain meticulous patient records and adhere strictly to hospital protocols and regulatory requirements
