Cardiovascular ICU, Critical Care Unit Medical Director

AdventHealth Orlando is seeking a dynamic and energetic physician leader to join and lead their Cardiovascular ICU Team as Medical Director. This position is a result of programmatic and company-wide growth, supporting and establishing high-quality Quaternary Critical Care services in Central Florida. The successful candidate will join AHMG Critical Care Specialists of Central Florida, a large employed provider intensive care team, and will play a key role in building and cultivating one of the busiest CVICU programs in the Southeastern United States.

• The team reaches over 15 other AdventHealth campuses throughout Central, North and West Florida.
• Provides tele-medicine services across multiple states.
• Encounters over 20,000 critically-ill patients a year.
• Collaborate with experienced and established intensivists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and cardiologists.

Responsibilities

• Manage CABG, Valvular repair or replacement, Aortic dissections and Thoracic surgery patients.
• Lead the clinical quality for CVICU care, including quality metrics and quality assurance teams.
• Actively participate in regional and national meetings and conferences.
• Educate APPs, medical critical care fellows, and new staff.
• Be involved with building a core team of physicians working to improve the breadth and intensity of the Cardiovascular ICU.
• Set performance criteria for the CVICU.
• Hire and retain qualified physicians & APPs.
• Help to advance AdventHealth Orlando into a world-class advanced cardiovascular critical care service.

Shift & Schedule

• Dedicated administrative time and clinical involvement.

Requirements

• Board Certification in Critical Care (ABIM) or Surgical Critical Care (ABS) required.
• 3-5 years of experience as a CVICU physician leader.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with both private practice and employed models.
