Jackson and Coker is seeking a Board Certified Thoracic Surgeon for a locums opportunity in Washington, starting October 2026. This role involves covering 10-14 days per month, including weekend call, in an inpatient practice setting. The ideal candidate will have ongoing long-term availability and be proficient in a wide range of cardiothoracic procedures.

Responsibilities
- Perform general CV/Thoracic Surgery, including open and endoscopic procedures
- Conduct Coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG), both on-pump and off-pump
- Perform valvular repair and replacement, aneurysm repair, and cardiac and aorto-thoracic procedures
- Execute TAVR, CABG, and Vent management
- Evaluate and manage acute volume/BP issues
- Perform central line insertion, arterial line insertion, PA catheter insertion, and IABP insertion
- Support Impella 5.5 implant and perform aortic valve conservation, aortic root remodeling, and enlargement procedures
- Supervise residents/teaching

Shift & Schedule
- Earliest start date: First week of October 2026
- Looking for coverage 10-14 days per month, including weekend call
- Will consider providers with ongoing long-term availability of at least two weeks per month
- Monday-Friday, 7 AM-5 PM
- Clinic one day per week
- Weekday night call: 5 PM-7 AM
- Typically 2 weekday call nights per week plus weekend call
- Weekend call: Friday 7 AM through Monday 7 AM
- Beeper call
- Coverage periods cannot end mid-weekend and typically conclude Friday at 7 AM or Monday at 7 AM
Requirements
- Board Certified in Thoracic Surgery
- Active Washington license or IMLC eligibility
- Resident/teaching supervision required
- Required response time for call: 30 minutes
