Cardiothoracic Surgeon

A mid-sized hospital in Virginia is seeking a locum tenens Cardiothoracic Surgery MD for ongoing inpatient coverage starting January 2027. The clinician will handle inpatient care, daily rounding on an average of 7-10 patients, and required call responsibilities supported by an experienced on-site team of APPs and a SICU PA-C. Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient coverage Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Perform daily rounding with an average of 7-10 patients per day
• Participate in required weeknight call from 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM and 24-hour weekend call from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM
• Maintain availability to respond to cardiothoracic surgical cases throughout each designated call period

Requirements

• Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery is required
