Cardiothoracic Surgeon

Jackson & Coker is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a locum tenens opportunity in Texas, starting in November and continuing ongoing. This role involves providing 24-hour call coverage for two weekends per month, including daytime hospital rounding and call responsibilities. The position is crucial for addressing a provider shortage at a Level III Trauma Center.

Practice Info

• Cardiothoracic call coverage supporting a Level II Trauma Center
• Facility Trauma Level: 3
• Average fewer than 5 admissions per day
• Hospital-based Nurse Practitioner available for support
• Coverage needed due to provider shortage
• EMR: Meditech (transitioning to Epic on October 30, 2026)

Responsibilities

• Provide Cardiothoracic Surgery services
• Provide backup support for Cath Lab procedures
• Perform daytime hospital rounding: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Provide call coverage: 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM
• Fulfill daytime rounding and call responsibilities
• Provide on-call coverage throughout assigned weekends

Requirements

• CT Fellowship required
• Board Certified preferred; will consider truly Board Eligible candidates
• Active Texas license required
• Clean malpractice history preferred
