Sutter West Bay Medical Group (SWBMG) is seeking an experienced Board-Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join its established cardiothoracic surgery program at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, Summit Campus, in Oakland, California. This role offers a collegial and collaborative practice environment within a physician-owned and physician-led medical group. The surgeon will provide comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical care, balancing adult cardiac and thoracic surgery, and contribute to a regional referral center serving the East Bay and Northern California.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical care across adult cardiac and thoracic surgery (50% adult cardiac surgery and 50% thoracic surgery)
  • Perform coronary artery bypass grafting, valve surgery, complex aortic procedures, and lung surgery
  • Manage acute and chronic aortic syndromes, including aortic dissections
  • Collaborate closely with interventional cardiology, advanced heart failure, structural heart, cardiovascular imaging, and pulmonology teams

Compensation

  • $675,311 - $991,290 /Yr.

Requirements

  • Current Board Certification by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery required
  • Minimum five years of post-training experience
  • Expertise in adult cardiac surgery, including coronary, valvular, and aortic procedures
  • Expertise in thoracic surgery, including lung resection and general thoracic procedures
  • Commitment to collaborative, patient-centered care within a multidisciplinary team
