Cardiothoracic Radiologist

Carilion Clinic is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Radiologist with fellowship training in Thoracic or Cardiothoracic Imaging to join their Department of Radiology at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH) and the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. This role supports growing cardiothoracic services, including a new 400,000 square-foot addition to CRMH for the Cardiothoracic Institute. The position offers an opportunity to work in a busy clinical and academic practice with a diverse patient pathology.

Practice Info

• The Department of Radiology at CRMH includes 21 Diagnostic Radiologists, 6 dedicated Interventional Radiologists, 1 Neuro-Interventional Radiologist, 4 dedicated Breast Imaging Radiologists, and 7 additional Diagnostic Radiologists based at Regional Hospitals outside of Roanoke.
• The practice has fellowship training in Neuroradiology, Breast Imaging, Body Imaging, Interventional Radiology, Neuro-Interventional Radiology, Musculoskeletal Imaging, and Molecular Imaging.
• Studies performed in the cardiothoracic imaging division include CT imaging (cancer staging, lung cancer screening, interstitial lung disease evaluation), coronary CTA, vein mapping cardiac CT, TAVI evaluation, and cardiac MRI.
• The team collaboratively participates in multiple tumor board conferences, including weekly thoracic oncology conferences, weekly general oncology conferences, and monthly cardiac imaging conferences.
• CRMH is a 703-bed flagship hospital, a designated Level 1 trauma center, and a designated Stroke Center.
• State-of-the-art facilities include seven CT scanners (four dual-energy) and five Siemens MRI scanners (three 3-Tesla systems).

Responsibilities

• Interpret thoracic/cardiothoracic imaging studies.
• Interpret general neuro/body/MSK radiographs/ultrasound/CT studies.
• Participate in tumor board conferences.
• Light teaching responsibilities for medical students and non-radiology residents.

Compensation

• Min Starting Salary: $531,000.
• Max Starting Salary: $700,000.
• Eligible to participate in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus compensation programs.
• Base Salary plus two-tier bonus plan.

Shift & Schedule

• Overnight shifts are covered by teleradiology.
