Practice Setting and Clinical Scope

This position involves working in both clinic and hospital-based environments. You will deliver care to adult patients, with a patient mix of approximately 60% inpatient and 40% outpatient. The facility is a Level II trauma center with a busy cath lab performing approximately 4-6 procedures daily, including add-ons. Clinic responsibilities involve managing a patient volume of 18-20 patients per day. The EMR system in use is EPIC, facilitating seamless patient information management across settings.

Schedule and Assignment Details

The role entails providing coverage for 4-5 shifts per week, including 2-3 clinic shifts and 2 cath lab shifts. Physicians can expect to cover approximately 1-2 weeks per month, based on availability. The call schedule includes approximately one night of call per weekday and one weekend on-call shift during assigned coverage, with a call ratio of about 1:6. Call responsibilities are primarily beeper/phone calls, with an average callback time of 2-4 hours, depending on the day.

Support and Work Environment

You will be supported by a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, including Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) who play a crucial role in the delivery of cardiology care. The non-invasive cardiology team handles hospital rounding, freeing you to concentrate on interventional procedures and patient consultations. Qualifications

• Board Certification in Cardiology with a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology is required.
• 1-5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
• Current Michigan license or eligibility for licensure through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) is necessary.
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, and possession of DEA registration are mandatory.
