Cardiology - Interventional Physician

We are seeking a Board Certified Interventional Cardiologist for a locum opportunity in Arizona, beginning September 2026. This hospital-based assignment offers Monday Friday coverage with call and a combination of Interventional Cardiology procedures, inpatient consults, and STEMI coverage.

Schedule

• Monday Friday during scheduled coverage weeks
• 7:00 AM 5:00 PM

Practice Setting

• Hospital-based Interventional Cardiology
• Adult Level IV Trauma
• Primarily patients age 55+
• Cerner EMR
• Inpatient floor consults and incoming STEMI coverage

Patient Volume

• Approximately 13 patients per day
• Approximately 4 5 procedures per day
• Approximately 3 4 consults per day

Responsibilities

• Provide Interventional Cardiology coverage
• Perform required interventional procedures
• Manage incoming STEMI cases
• Provide hospital floor consultations
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nursing staff, and other members of the care team

Support Staff

• 2 physicians in the group
• APP support typically available

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• STEMI experience required
• Arizona medical license required; IMLC accepted
• Willing to license qualified candidates
• DEA required
• ACLS & BLS required
• Cerner experience

Credentialing

• Approximately 2-week credentialing timeframe
• If Arizona license is not active at offer, proof of license application must be provided before the credentialing application is released

Orientation

• Remote Cerner training required before the assignment

Ideal Candidate

A Board Certified Interventional Cardiologist with at least two years of experience who is comfortable managing STEMI coverage, inpatient consults, and a procedural volume of approximately 4 5 cases per day. This opportunity is particularly well suited for a physician available for consecutive weekday coverage blocks and who either holds an Arizona license or can obtain one through IMLC.
