Cardiology - Interventional Physician

Locums - Fargo, North Dakota, Interventional Cardiology Opening (IMLC Welcome) Start Date: 10/1/26 Expected Duration: Ongoing Coverage & Setting:

• Interventional Cardiology coverage
• 10 days of coverage required per month beginning in November
• Preferred schedule is two 5-day stretches overlapping two weekends; one consecutive 10-day stretch per month may also be considered
• Provider will hold the pager for the full duration of each assignment
• Level II Trauma setting
• Stroke-certified hospital
• Admissions required
• Assigned and unassigned patients

• Cover Cardiology inpatient service with an inpatient APC
• Weeknight call Monday-Friday
• Weeknight call includes urgent inpatient catheterizations, temporary pacemakers, STEMIs, stat echocardiograms, and EP calls
• An EP Cardiologist handles primary EP coverage during weekdays

• Weekend coverage includes General and Electrophysiology Cardiology hospital services
• Weekend responsibilities include inpatient catheterizations, STEMIs, and stat echocardiograms
• EP coverage is included in this role
• They are in no way doing full-scope EP work. Only EP procedures are temp pacemakers. For the most part it's mainly going to be getting assigned to EP patients that need to be observed before getting discharged (i.e. they had a procedure Friday and need to stay for 24 hours before they can be discharged)
• Assist with urgent EP inpatient needs and consults during weeknights and weekends
• 30-minute call response time required

• Approximately 15 patients seen
• Approximately 3 admissions
• Approximately 5 phone consults
• Call-back rate: Approximately 50%

• TEE - Required
• Interventional Cardiology skills required
• Temporary pacemaker management
• Urgent inpatient catheterizations and STEMI coverage

• Inpatient APC support during weekdays
• EMR: Epic

• Board Certified - Required
• Fellowship trained - Required
• Must have at least one year of independent practice experience following fellowship
• Active North Dakota license or IMLC accepted
