Cardiology House Physician

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, affiliated with New York City Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst, is seeking a House Physician with Cardiology or Critical Care experience to join their CICU team. This nocturnal-only position involves providing advanced care for patients with acute cardiac conditions in a 9-bed CICU and 6-bed Cardiac Stepdown Unit. Practice Info

• Join the CICU team at New York City Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst
• Provide care in a 9-bed CICU and 6-bed Cardiac Stepdown Unit
• Hospital is easily accessible by public transportation and car from all areas of New York City, New Jersey and Long Island

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced care for patients with acute cardiac conditions, including ACS, cardiogenic shock, arrhythmia, advanced heart failure, post-MI care under the supervision of an attending cardiologist
• Perform and document comprehensive history and physical examinations
• Order, interpret and act on diagnostic studies and laboratory tests
• Perform ICU procedures (central venous catheter placement, arterial line placement, etc.) as credentialed
• Participate in multidisciplinary care planning
• Collaborate with cardiology fellows, residents, nurses, and ancillary staff
• Support quality improvement, education, and research activities within the CICU
• Provide patient/family education and discharge planning

Compensation

• Compensation range from $84,000 to $84,000 (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Shift & Schedule

• Nocturnal only position
• The salary range listed is for full-time employment

Requirements

• MD/DO degree
• Board certified/eligible in Internal Medicine
• Valid New York State License, DEA and Medicaid number
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus
