Job Description:

• n

  Provides primary care and treatment to patients under the auspices of the supervising physician

  n

• n

  Assures timely and accurate entries of medical histories, progress notes and treatment recommendations in the patients’ medical records

  n
n
• n

  Provides service in accordance with policies and procedures

  n
n
• n

  Practices within scope of practice as delineated by education and training including, but not limited to:

  n

• n

  Conforms to prescriptive privileges

  n
n
• n

  Obtains co-signature by the supervising physician on all prescriptions written

  n
n
• n

  Does not prescribe narcotics

  n
n
• n

  Refers patients for laboratory, x-ray and specialty care for needed services that cannot be provided at the practice

  n
n
• n

  Assures that adequate patient health records are maintained and transferred, as required, when patient care is transferred

  n
n
• n

  Participates with supervising physician in a periodic review of the patients’ health records.

  n
n
• n

  Assures all patient management documentation, including pharmaceutical modalities, is outlined in the patient’s medical record and signed by the supervising physician.

  Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Skilled in the use of specialized equipment used in respective area of practice (Required)

• Good organizational skills in planning/ implementing daily activities (Required)

• Leadership/mentorship/clinical resource skills (Required)

• Ability to multi-task on a variety of tasks and projects (Required)

• Excellent organization skills (Required)

• Skilled in providing age-appropriate education regarding care management interventions and illness adjustment issues (Required)

• Master's of Nursing (Required)
