Cardiologist needed in Truckee, CA - Permanent

Momentum HCS is seeking a Permanent Cardiologist (MD/DO) to join a dynamic clinical team in Truckee, CA. This position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care in a collaborative hospital and clinic-based setting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Systematically assess patients' health status, establish appropriate diagnoses, and implement care plans to achieve effective clinical outcomes
Accept referrals for cardiology consults from physicians and advanced practice providers; communicate with referral sources in a courteous, professional, and timely manner
Order, perform, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests as appropriate
Prescribe medications, therapies, and other specialized medical treatments as indicated
Perform medical procedures within the physician's scope of practice, as defined by the hospital's credentialing and privileging processes
Evaluate a comprehensive range of treatment and preventive options and recommend age-appropriate, culturally appropriate, realistic, and attainable care plans
Manage and monitor patient care following initiation of treatment plans, adjusting as warranted
Communicate effectively with patients and families to ensure understanding of diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care
Educate patients and encourage active participation in their healthcare; provide educational materials to promote wellness
Document clinical activities in the electronic medical record (EMR) system in accordance with established guidelines
Delegate patient care activities appropriately
Respond effectively to emergent situations
Ensure continuity of care for patients
Support efficient practice management policies that enhance patient access and quality of care
Participate in clinic access planning to ensure appropriate same-day patient availability
Engage in clinical quality improvement initiatives
Meet agreed-upon patient contact hours based on full-time equivalent (FTE) status
Collaborate in establishing and achieving productivity goals, including visit volume and relative value units (RVUs)
Fulfill emergency department call coverage commitments as required
Support accurate and appropriate billing through timely documentation and knowledge of billing policies
Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and clinical practice guidelines
Cooperate with regulatory survey preparation
Respond to telephone calls in a timely manner
Address and follow up on patient complaints and concerns
Maintain and enhance clinical skills through continuing medical education (CME)
Utilize available resources appropriately in managing chronic disease conditions
Provide medical leadership within the clinic and hospital setting
Serve as a resource to colleagues and clinical support staff
Assist in training, orientation, and evaluation of clinical support staff as requested
Attend and actively participate in staff and physician meetings
Participate in clinic and health system planning, including operational and strategic initiatives
Serve on Medical Staff and clinic committees as appropriate
Engage in community education and professional activities to promote practice growth and wellness

Supervisory Responsibilities
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws
Participate in the selection and training of clinical employees as requested

Education & Experience
MD or DO degree
Successful completion of an accredited residency and fellowship training in Cardiology
Licenses & Certifications
Required:
Current license to practice medicine in California (or ability to obtain)
Current DEA registration (approved for all drug schedules)
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology
If Board Eligible, must obtain Board Certification within five (5) years of fellowship completion and maintain certification thereafter
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
Additional Qualifications
Eligibility for Medical Staff membership and clinical privileges in Cardiology
Ability to obtain and maintain professional liability insurance
Eligible for participation in Medicare and Medi-Cal programs and credentialing by contracted health plans
Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
Working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding and documentation standards
