Atrius Health, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a Cardiologist to join their innovative health care leader and multi-specialty group practice. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients requiring specialized cardiac care within a team-based model. The successful candidate will contribute to a connected system of care for adult and pediatric patients across 28 practice locations in eastern Massachusetts, working collaboratively with primary and specialty care providers, hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical assessments on patients with specialized conditions
  • Develop and implement a plan of care for these patients
  • Prescribe medications, exercises and/or other treatments and testing such as lab sessions & testing include echocardiography, stress testing, vascular ultrasound imaging, nuclear imaging, cardiac device clinic
  • Collaborate with the clinical and administrative teams in the management of patient care
  • Maintain continuity of care through the exchange of information with outside health and social agencies
  • Serve as a liaison between primary care providers and specialists to consults with providers on issues related to patient care
  • Teach and counsel individuals and groups with regard to specific health care needs
  • Participate in the development of health education programs

Compensation

  • Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $367,500 - $700,000
  • Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role

Requirements

  • Required: Graduate of an accredited Medical School or School of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Required: Board Certified or Board Certified Eligible in Cardiology
  • Required: Current active DEA licensure/prescriptive authority or ability to obtain post-hire, per state regulations
  • Required: Current active Mass DPH Controlled Substances Registration or ability to obtain post-hire, per state regulations
  • Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty
  • Preferred: Echo and Nuclear certification
