Atrius Health, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a Cardiologist to join their innovative multi-specialty group practice in eastern Massachusetts. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients requiring specialized cardiac care within a collaborative, team-based model. The successful candidate will contribute to a system focused on high-quality, evidence-based medicine and transforming care through trust and shared decision-making.

  • Multi-specialty group practice
  • Delivering care for adult and pediatric patients
  • 28 practice locations in eastern Massachusetts
  • Team-based model where primary and specialty care providers join with hospital partners, community specialists, and skilled nursing facilities

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical assessments on patients with specialized conditions
  • Develop and implement a plan of care for these patients, as well as prescribe medications, exercises and/or other treatments and testing such as lab sessions & testing include echocardiography, stress testing, vascular ultrasound imaging, nuclear imaging, cardiac device clinic
  • Collaborate with the clinical and administrative teams in the management of patient care
  • Maintain continuity of care through the exchange of information with outside health and social agencies
  • Serve as a liaison between primary care providers and specialists to consults with providers on issues related to patient care
  • Teach and counsel individuals and groups with regard to specific health care needs
  • Serve as an educator in areas of specialization
  • Participate in the development of health education programs

Compensation

  • The salary range for this role is $393,000 to $735,000 annually based on full-time employment
  • Salary Range is defined as total cash compensation at target
  • The actual range and pay mix of base and bonus is variable based upon experience and metric achievement
  • Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical School or School of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Board Certified or Board Certified Eligible in Cardiology
  • Current active DEA licensure/prescriptive authority or ability to obtain post-hire, per state regulations
  • Current active Mass DPH Controlled Substances Registration or ability to obtain post-hire, per state regulations
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty
