ChenMed is seeking a Cardiologist to join its clinical operations team, providing direct patient care and assessments primarily in an ambulatory health care center setting. This role involves diagnosing and treating various cardiovascular ailments, developing care plans, and providing health education. The Cardiologist will play a key role in a rapidly expanding organization focused on transforming healthcare for seniors.

Practice Info

  • Provides excellent inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular care.
  • Leads a cardiovascular care team that may include Care Promoters, Echocardiogram/X-ray Technician(s), and mid-level providers (ARNP or PA).
  • Manages the care of chronic cardiovascular diseases for a panel of at minimum 5,000 patients.
  • May have responsibility for cardiology clinical operations of 2-5 centers in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care and assessments, primarily in the ambulatory health care center setting.
  • Diagnose and treat various cardiovascular ailments or diseases, such as heart attacks and coronary heart disease.
  • Take medical history, conduct physical exams, develop a plan of care, and provide health education.
  • Provide specialty referrals and case management referrals, and follow-up care.
  • Apply clear, in-depth documentation through written progress notes and summaries according to ChenMed standards.
  • Participate in clinical rounds and conferences.
  • Assist the Medical Director, Cardiology (MDC) in managing day-to-day clinical and business operations and building positive relationships with providers and key stakeholders.
  • Consult with the Medical Director, Cardiology to ensure compliance with guidelines and participate in risk and quality management programs.

Compensation

  • PAY RANGE: $270,461 - $386,372 Salary.

Requirements

  • MD or DO in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics or similar specialty required.
  • Board certification in Cardiology required.
  • Current, unrestricted and active license to practice medicine in state of employment.
  • Current DEA and DPS Certificate of Registration required.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Cardiologist required.
  • Prior experience working with interdisciplinary teams in quality improvement and or medical/healthcare leadership activities preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AMA) or American Red Cross required w/in first 90 days of employment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally and nationwide up to 15% of the time.
