Practice Info
- Join a group practice of three general cardiologists, three cardiac electro-physiologists, and three interventional cardiologists.
- Three cardio-thoracic vascular surgeons also practice within the Sanford Cardiovascular Institute.
- Sanford cardiologists practice in the Sanford Heart Hospital, a clinic/hospital that opened in March 2012.
- The 88-bed Heart Hospital is connected to Sanford USD Medical Center.
- Heart Hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art catheterization and electro-physiology labs, critical care units, outpatient testing, and rehabilitation suites.
- Large testing area includes MRI, nuclear, echo CT, and stress testing equipment with excellent, well-trained support staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform history and physical examination.
- Admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide treatment or consultative services for adult patients presenting with diseases of the heart, lungs, and blood vessels.

Requirements
- BE/BC Level 3 imaging cardiologist.
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Successful completion of a hospital-affiliated Internal Medicine residency program.
- Completion of a fellowship in Cardiology accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada in the residency.
- Certification by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
- If not board certified at the time of application but completed fellowship training within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of fellowship training.
