Cardiologist - Advanced Heart Failure

Sanford Cardiovascular Institute is seeking a BC/BE Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join their integrated practice in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The incoming provider will help develop an LVAD and ECMO program, manage inpatient cases of cardiogenic shock, and oversee dedicated outpatient clinics. This well-established program also offers robust opportunities for clinical trials, research, and education within a university health setting.

• Sanford Cardiovascular Institute
• Integrated practice including a team of 9 cardiologists, 1 of which is Advanced Heart Failure Certified, and 3 Cardiothoracic Surgeons
• Service provided to inpatient, clinic, and outreach locations with nurse practitioner support
• Well-established heart failure program providing consultation and longitudinal outpatient management of advanced heart failure disease patients, as well as those with acute and durable mechanical support devices
• Team participates in over 20 clinical trials, encourages and supports research endeavors, and regularly presents at national meetings
• Program includes opportunity for clinical education and research with general and interventional cardiology fellowships in a university health setting

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development of a LVAD and ECMO program
• Manage inpatient ECMO, LVAD, and cardiogenic shock
• Maintain a robust general non-invasive cardiology practice including dedicated advanced heart failure and pulmonary hypertension outpatient clinics
• Provide consultation, longitudinal outpatient management of advanced heart failure disease patients, as well as those with acute and durable mechanical support devices

Requirements

• BC/BE Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist
• Experience in medical device management of advanced heart failure patients is ideal
