Shift: 6:50 PM - 7:20 AM
Experience

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Telemetry Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
  

Requirements

Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license (required for submission).

This role will require floating to multiple units

Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.
Unit accepts first time travelers
Weekend Coverage: Every Third Weekend
Skills Required: Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry -on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams, Feeding tube care and management, Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure, Blood Product Administration, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Heparin Protocols, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, PCA, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank, Non-invasive airway management, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac
Skills Preferred: Post MI, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Starting IVs, CVA, Surgical drains, Interpretation of ABGs
Patient Diagnoses: Atrial Fibrillation, Chest Pain Rule Out MI, MI, Arrhythmias, Heart Failure, COPD, Diabetes.
Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics
Community Hospital Experience: Preferred
RTO must be on the submittal and cannot be changed once the profile has been sent to the manager for review.
No RTO the first two weeks of an assignment.
Return Staff Policy If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.
