nPosition Overview:
nCoordinates and organizes day to day sonography operations, including work assignments of the sonographers, diagnostic imaging aides, and students. Expertly performs routine and specialized sonography procedures of high complexity to produce quality images to physicians and other health care providers for the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and prevention of injury or disease. Implements and updates policies, procedures and protocols to streamline workflow, improve efficiency, and strengthen radiation protection/safety measures. Ensures the timely delivery of accurate imaging services and oversees the efficient maintenance and operation of all radiological equipment. Serves as the liaison between Diagnostic Imaging and staff, physicians, patients, family and other hospital staff. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.

nOther: Graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.
nOR possession of ARDMS evidencing completion of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
nCERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
nRDCS-Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Upon Hire
nBLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Upon Hire
nTYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
n8 years of recent relevant experience.
nSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
nDemonstrated specialized expertise in diagnostic sonography principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including significant experience responding to traumas, code blues, medical alerts, STAT calls, and various hospital emergencies.
nProficient in performing ultrasound examinations with an in-depth understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology so as to recognize, prioritize and communicate suspicious and potential abnormalities.
nPossess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
nTime management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline.
nBroad knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) and related information systems (Radiology (RIS), laboratory (LIS), electronic health records (EHR), EPIC, and picture archive and communication system (PACS).
nPrioritize and delegate assignments based on experience, procedures, policies, and best practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
nWork autonomously, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
nIdentify and analyze data to solve problems that arise with little or no precedent.
nAnalyze workflow/processes and propose improvements or solutions that improve the efficiency of the team.
nEnsure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).
nBuild collaborate relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.

nPay Range is $72.13 to $87.92 / hour
