The cardiac sonographer performs routine and complex echocardiography. Prepares and positions patient for echocardiography exam and explains procedure. Operates cardiac ultrasound, doppler and similar equipment to perform procedures according to physician's directive. Observes the screen during the scan to ensure a satisfactory image for diagnostic purposes making adjustments as required.

A certification from an accredited ultrasound/sonography school

One year of experience as an ultrasound technician/sonographer preferred

Current BLS card

Current TB test or chest x-ray

Current physical exam per state or contract requirements
