Certifications: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) preferred
Must-Have:
Proficient in performing 2-dimensional, color Doppler, and Doppler echocardiograms.
Knowledgeable in stress and dobutamine echocardiograms.
Ability to interpret and analyze test performance and results.
Skilled in non-imaging continuous Doppler for accurate diagnosis and imaging of abnormal pathologies.
Mastery of all phases of echocardiography for diagnosing wall motion abnormalities, left ventricular regional wall abnormalities, pericardial, pleural effusion, connections of stenotic and regurgitant lesions, and congenital abnormalities.
Strong ability to review and interpret test results and notify relevant physicians of preliminary reports.
Capable of reviewing patient charts to obtain pertinent clinical history in order to perform accurate cardiac examinations.
Effective communicator, able to explain procedures to patients and position them for cardiac ultrasound examinations.
Must be capable of performing several portable studies a day, including mobilization of necessary equipment.
Responsible for recording and reviewing test results for accuracy and preparing test reports.
Utilizes ancillary devices for obtaining a permanent record of cardiac examinations.
Records, calculates, and plots known control values on technical instruments to ensure reliability and accuracy in reporting test results.
Maintains testing rooms in clean and orderly condition, including disposal of soiled linen and stocking necessary supplies.
Cleans equipment such as patient cables, transducers, and ultrasound machines.
Description:
Performs 2-dimensional, color Doppler, and Doppler echocardiograms.
Also performs stress and dobutamine echocardiograms, requiring a high level of knowledge to interpret and analyze test performance and results.
Must be proficient and knowledgeable in non-imaging continuous Doppler to deliver effective results for diagnosing and imaging abnormal pathologies.
Masters all phases of echocardiography to diagnose various conditions, including wall motion abnormalities and congenital abnormalities.
Must have the ability to review and interpret test results and notify referring physicians or house officers of a preliminary report.
Reviews patient charts to obtain pertinent clinical history for accurate test performance and interpretation.
Explains procedures to patients and positions them appropriately for examinations.
Performs several portable studies daily, requiring mobilization of equipment.
Records and reviews test results for accuracy, preparing detailed reports, and utilizing ancillary devices for permanent records.
Records, calculates, and plots control values on technical instruments for reliable test result reporting.
Maintains testing rooms in a clean and orderly condition, managing supplies and cleaning equipment as necessary.
