Sanford Health is seeking a BC/BE fellowship-trained Cardiac Electrophysiologist to join their well-established Cardiology department at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, Wisconsin. This role offers a high-volume electrophysiology service with access to advanced EP labs and comprehensive cardiac care. The position provides abundant opportunities for teaching and mentorship with cardiovascular fellows and residents, alongside research opportunities within a well-established research institute.
Practice Info
- Join a team of Electrophysiologists, Interventional Cardiologists, and General Cardiologists, supported by a large team of Advanced Practice Clinicians.
- The clinic is adjacent to a Trauma Level II - 500 bed hospital.
- Features Carto and Abbott mapping systems, 2 EP labs & 2 Cath labs.
- In-department ECHO and EKGs are available.
- Available technologies include Radiofrequency, Cryoablation, pulsed field ablation, and laser extraction.
- In-department Pacemaker/Device clinic and full spectrum high acuity cardiac care team with CV surgery onsite.
Responsibilities
- Perform history and physical examination.
- Admit, evaluate, treat, and provide consultation to acute and chronically ill adult patients presenting with a variety of heart rhythm disorders.
- Perform 50 ICD/permanent pacemaker placements and 25 ablations in the past 24 months (for applicants not directly out of fellowship or without a quality profile).
- Perform the first 10 Cardiac Invasive/Interventional EP procedures at Sanford Medical Center under the supervision of the EP Lab Director or Physician Designee.
Compensation
- Compensation floor of $850,000 for the first two years of the employment contract, plus estimated potential to exceed compensation floor from personally performed wRVUs.
- $200,000 retention incentive to be paid if you remain a 1.0 FTE for 4 years (subject to a contractual agreement).

Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- BC/BE fellowship-trained in Cardiac Electrophysiology.
- Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Internal Medicine residency program of at least 3 years' duration.
- Completion of a fellowship in Cardiology of at least 3 years' duration accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
- Successful completion of an approved ACGME training program in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology that is 12 months in length, in addition to the Cardiology fellowship.
- Certification by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
- If not board certified at the time of application, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of fellowship training.
