Cardiac Critical Care Intensivist

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Cardiac Critical Care Intensivist to join the Hartford HealthCare Heart and Vascular Institute at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut. This role involves caring for patients with complex cardiovascular disease, including pre- and postoperative care, heart transplants, VADs, and acute mechanical circulatory support. The successful candidate will work within a collegial and highly trained Cardiac ICU team in a nationally recognized, integrated health system.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients with complex cardiovascular disease which can include pre- and postoperative care, heart transplant and/or a Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD), and acute mechanical circulatory support (ECMO cannulation, impella and intra-aortic balloon pumps) and cardiogenic shock
• Engage in educational opportunities with APPs, cardiology fellows, critical care fellows, residents and interns

Requirements

• Cannulation experience preferred but not required
• Successful candidate will be able to place chest tubes, and perform bronchoscopy and emergent intubations
