Job Overview

Position: Anesthesiologist – Cardiac (MD only)

St. Mary’s General Hospital, a 293‑bed acute care facility located in Passaic, New Jersey, offers cardiovascular, cancer, maternal‑child, and behavioral health services. The hospital is part of Prime Healthcare System and has earned multiple quality awards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in directing and coordinating activities within the Anesthesia Department.
• Provide medical management of patients during surgery and other procedures, including those rendered unconscious or insensible to pain and emotional stress.
• Conduct pre‑anesthesia assessments and obtain / verify patient consent.
• Discuss anesthetic options, risks, and benefits with patients.
• Induce, maintain, and recover patients from anesthesia.
• Monitor patients’ physiological conditions throughout procedures.
• Perform clinical interventions as needed.

Qualifications

• M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine.
• Certification as ECFMG (enabled) and FLEX.
• Completed approved residency in anesthesia.
• Completed approved cardiac fellowship.
• Currently licensed as a physician in the state of New Jersey.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary: $575,000 (annually).
• Sign‑on incentive: up to $100,000.
