Cardiac Anesthesiologist

SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital and Saint Louis University School of Medicine are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join their growing faculty team. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to practice the full breadth of anesthesiology in a newly constructed, state-of-the-art academic medical center. Providers will engage in a diverse, high-acuity case mix while educating and mentoring the next generation of physicians in a supportive, mission-driven environment.

Practice Info

• Newly constructed, state-of-the-art academic medical center
• Diverse and complex case mix in a tertiary referral setting
• LEVEL 1 Time Critical Diagnosis hospital in Stroke, Trauma and STEMI
• Medical teaching hospital for Saint Louis University School of Medicine, exclusively staffed by the SLUCare Physician Group

Responsibilities

• Practice 100% clinical anesthesiology
• Provide a full spectrum of anesthesiology care including Cardiac Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Trauma, ENT, Interventional Radiology, Liver Cases, Endoscopy, and additional complex tertiary and quaternary care procedures
• Teach and mentor residents and medical students
• Participate in didactic sessions, simulation training, and resident education
• Engage in scholarly and academic activities

Shift & Schedule

• Approximately 50-hour work week
• Typical 10-hour clinical shifts
• Collaborative scheduling model designed to support physician wellness
• Later clinical shifts receive "first out" status the following day
• Approximately 13 weekday call shifts annually
• Approximately 11 weekend call shifts annually
• Optional 24-hour call opportunities available

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
• Eligible for Missouri medical licensure
• Commitment to excellence in patient care
