Cardiac Anesthesiologist

UPMC Western Maryland is seeking a Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to practice with a great team at a voluntary nonprofit, short-term acute care hospital with 240 Medicare certified beds. The hospital provides healthcare services to residents in Allegany and Garrett Counties in Maryland, as well as surrounding counties in West Virginia and Pennsylvania, utilizing state-of-the-art medical equipment and experienced staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive anesthesia care across surgical procedures
• Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and obtain informed consent
• Develop and discuss anesthetic plans with patients
• Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition and perform interventions as needed
• Support departmental coordination and clinical leadership

Compensation

• Salary: $625,000
• Chief Stipend: $50,000
• Sign on Incentive: $75,000

Requirements

• M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
• TEE proficiency is required
• Completion of Cardiac Fellowship
• ECFMG and FLEX
• Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
• Currently licensed as a physician
