This role ensures the effective sourcing, negotiation, and acquisition of high-value equipment, construction services, and technology systems, while aligning with budgetary goals, project timelines, and compliance standards.The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and negotiation skills, a deep understanding of capital project lifecycles, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, finance, legal, and operations teams. The Capital Procurement Manager will also be instrumental in developing supplier relationships, managing risk, and driving cost optimization strategies.ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:Develop and execute procurement strategies for capital projects in alignment with organizational objectivesLead sourcing, bidding, and contract negotiation processes for capital expendituresCollaborate with project managers, engineers, and technical teams to define specifications and procurement timelinesEvaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and project specific compliance criteriaMonitor supplier performance and manage vendor relationships to ensure project successEnsure adherence to internal controls, legal requirements, and industry standardsAnalyze market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvementsPrepare and present procurement reports and forecasts to senior leadershipProactively identify and drive cost reduction initiativesPerform commercial evaluations and assist with technical evaluations leading to an award recommendationWork directly with legal personnel to create the required contract documentsIdentify and qualify suppliers with expertise in supplying industrial manufacturing equipmentIdentify and qualify suppliers with expertise in industrial constructionConduct market analyses on materials, products, and services associated with capital projectsWork to minimize the number of "single source" purchase ordersLead the efforts to resolve any disputes that may arise between the project team and suppliersApply strong analytical and decision-making skills that foster developing creative solutions and support the business missionAssist in value engineering exercises to obtain the lowest cost for the desired capital solutionManage multiple projects simultaneously while achieving key business objectivesTravel as required to suppliers and project sites (<10% of time)QualificationsYou have:Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field from an accredited university5 years of procurement experience in capital projects, preferably in aluminum or metals manufacturingEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
