California Licensed Medical Coding Manager

Leading a remote team, the full-time California Licensed Medical Coding Manager will oversee coding operations, ensuring accurate and compliant code assignment while developing training programs and fostering a high-performing culture among medical coders and auditors. Key responsibilities Manage day-to-day coding operations, including workload balancing and performance tracking Develop and deliver comprehensive coding education programs and ongoing training for coders Serve as the primary escalation point for coding questions and complex scenarios, collaborating with various stakeholders Required qualifications Active AAPC (e.g., CPC, COC) or AHIMA (CCS-P, CCS) certification Minimum 5 years of professional coding experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role Strong understanding of pro-fee coding, including preventive care and virtual services Experience designing and delivering coding education and training Proficiency with EHR systems and coding software, with familiarity in HCC/risk adjustment coding
