To support Medicaid healthcare programs, the full-time California Licensed Genetic Testing Physician will provide senior-level clinical expertise in genetics and genetic testing, focusing on medical necessity determinations, provider engagement, and quality improvement initiatives while working remotely. Key responsibilities Serve as the subject matter expert for genetics, genomics, and genetic testing services Review complex authorization requests and conduct peer-to-peer consultations to support appropriate testing and treatment decisions Collaborate with clients and internal teams to enhance healthcare outcomes and ensure compliance with Medicaid regulations and guidelines Required qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with an active, unrestricted U.S. medical license Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in California Board Certification in Medical Genetics and Genomics, Clinical Genetics, or a related specialty Minimum of 5+ years of post-residency clinical experience in genetics or related fields Strong knowledge of molecular diagnostics and experience with Medicaid programs and utilization management
