CAD Technician/Fabric Marker Layer (36 hr shift)Century Chair Plant 3 - Hickory, NC 28601OverviewPosition Type Full Time Job Shift DayDescriptionPosition SummaryThis position is responsible for operating the CAD system that automatically cuts upholstery fabric.Position DetailsEnter patterns and fabrics into the CAD system as requiredProduce markers applying frames to fabrics as requiredPrint out markers in miniature, laminate, and file in proper placeRecord all markers and yardage's in the main frame computer systemPull markers as required for the scheduleWork with cutters on marker layoutsWork with CAD Cutter Set-up Operator on markers and any layout problems that ariseCommunicate to Lead Person and/or Supervisor any problems with patterns, software, hardware or the systemWork on special project assignments related to fabric yieldHelp with marking spot points and cutting new market swatchesAssist with demonstrating the CAD System to tour groupsCarry out any additional duties as assigned by the SupervisorWork safely at all times and report any unsafe conditions or practices to the SupervisorRotiatin Day shift - 36 hours weekly, M-T-W 7 am to 7:30 pm, or Th-F-S 7am to 7:30pm, rotating every 4 weeksQualificationsPosition RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED requiredPosition requires at least 1 year of experience with CAD programTo perform this job successfully an individual must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suites and computer aided design systems related to pattern designsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, etc.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands and work environment expectations described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
