CAD Tech

CAD TechnicianThe CAD Technician will use computer-aided design software to make technical drawings. CAD Technician will use computer-aided design programs to create an image, which may be displayed in three-dimensional space. We're looking for a CAD Technician who is highly skilled and has experience with a variety of CAD software programs.

The ideal candidate will be able to take on projects of all sizes and difficulty levels and will be able to work independently or as a part of a team.Job ResponsibilitiesCreate or modify drawings.Maintain and update repetitive drawings.Edit and revise new drawings based on WMI requirements.Creating job sets and nests for the production team.Work closely with other technicians, architects, and designers to develop and revise 3D models of structures and features.Review design files of completed projects against client specifications and work orders to make necessary revisions.Monitor production progress to determine the efficiency of 3D rendering and documentation.Assist in training and educating design and modeling staff on new technologies and best practices.Perform day-to-day duties involved in generating and maintaining 3D CAD models.Check CAD drawn prints when no DXF/DWG is provided (verify it is correct)RequirementsExperience:Read and understand blueprintsComputer skillsBe very detailed in reading and producing prints (small detail focused)Problem solving skillsOutside the box thinkingCommunication skills (sales/shop/customers)Show initiativeWork well with othersQuality focusedKnowledge of metal fabricating industryQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or related field of work history equivalent.2+ years proven experience designing and drafting in AutoCAD.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and maps; prepare accurate detailed drawings from data supplied by customersKnowledge of tube lasers and robotics.Experience as a design and drafting technician.
