The role will work with team members to ensure material utilization and program requirements are met. The CAD Pattern Technician is responsible for maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring paperwork aligns with the build schedules. This position is full-time on the day shift in Livonia, MI.Duties and Responsibilities of a CAD Pattern Technician:Support various shop operations and functions as needed by collaborating with other members of the departmentCreate patterns using CAD software and verify product fitment prior to productionCommunicate material usage requirements and program requirements with team members and other departmentsOptimize material utilization through efficient cut filesEnsure accuracy of all parts, paperwork and documentation to the provided build schedulesInspect equipment regularly and ensure it is in safe working conditionMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaTo be considered as a CAD Pattern Technician, you need:High school diploma or equivalentTo be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer sponsorshipMinimum 1 year of CAD software experienceUnderstanding and use of basic coding of automated cutting software, such as an Eastman textile cutting machineBasic mechanical skills and physical ability to work around forms, molds, models, and partsExperience using hand and power tools such as drills, sanders, and grindersAbility to follow company policies, procedures, and safety requirementsAbility to read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and related documentationAbility to work effectively with others, follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and develop patterns based on part requirementsAbility to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environmentPreferred Education and Experience:Associate degree or certification in a technical field with CAD trainingExperience in low-volume composite or manufacturingExperience with Rhinoceros 3D and/or SolidWorks CAD softwareAdvanced math skillsKnowledge of adhesives, sealants, primers, and composite/textile materialsUnderstanding of material utilization and/or material propertiesAbility to work overtime as needed, including weekendsIf you share our passion for providing innovative solutions to complex challenges, we want you on our team.
