CAD Designer – Residential ConstructionWe are seeking a talented and detail-oriented CAD Designer to join a growing residential construction team. This role is responsible for developing accurate technical drawings, construction documents, and residential design plans that support the successful execution of custom home projects.The ideal candidate will have experience in residential construction design, strong technical drafting skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders.
Experience with custom residential homes and cabinet design is highly valued.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and revise detailed construction drawings, residential floor plans, elevations, and technical documentation.Develop accurate design and construction documents using CAD software, with a preference for Chief Architect.Incorporate dimensions, specifications, materials, and construction details into project plans.Create and modify custom residential home plans and layout designs.Support custom cabinetry and millwork design integration when required.Ensure all drawings comply with applicable building codes, regulations, and construction standards.Maintain organized project documentation and drawing revisions throughout the project lifecycle.Coordinate with architects, engineers, project managers, and construction teams to ensure design accuracy and project alignment.Assist in resolving design and drafting issues while supporting project schedules and budget objectives.Required QualificationsEducationAssociate Degree or Technical Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Drafting, Construction Technology, or a related field.ExperienceMinimum 4 years of professional CAD design experience within residential construction.Demonstrated experience producing construction documents and residential building plans.Technical SkillsStrong proficiency with CAD software.Experience with Chief Architect is highly preferred.Solid understanding of residential construction methods, building materials, and construction documentation.Knowledge of local building codes and residential design standards.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary: $55,000 – $75,000 annually, based on experience.Full-time, permanent employment.Opportunity to contribute to high-quality custom residential projects.Collaborative and team-oriented work environment.Long-term growth and career development opportunities.
