HVAC Design EngineerThis position is responsible for developing detailed design and specifications in 3D modeling and 2D layouts for new and existing HVAC products by using Computer Assisted Design (CAD) software. Support project and sustaining Engineers to release Engineering changes through bills of materials and drawings. May oversee the building of Engineering prototypes to understand the design changes based upon the outcome. Communicate with manufacturing to ensure the form of design.

Responsibilities may include:Develop 3D models and 2D production drawings/layouts using Creo or Solid Edge.Plan, coordinate, and review engineering CAD design changes before submission to the checker or supervisor.Design new and existing 3D models based on DFM (Design for Manufacturability).Maintain attention to detail while creating CAD designs and managing bills of materials.Create bills of material from 3D CAD models using a PLM system (e.g., Team Center).Modify and revise designs to address deficiencies or reduce production issues.Manage and resolve CAD-related issues and tasks.Perform revisions, edits, and updates to drawings based on sketches, notes, and verbal instructions.Work within cross-functional teams.Perform additional projects and duties to support business needs.Nature & Scope:Works within well-defined instructionsUses established procedures and works under supervision to perform tasksWork is closely supervisedKnowledge & Skills:Able to create medium to complex 3D model and 2D Layouts (Sheet metal and/or piping) by using Creo or Solid EdgeAbility to modify and revise designs to address deficiencies or reduce production issuesStrong understanding of bills of materials for functional productsMechanical design background with hands-on experienceCapable of resolving CAD-related issues and tasksAble to perform CAD assembly interference detection reportsKnowledgeable about product design and engineering change processesExperience with PLM systems such as Team Center or SAPWillingness to learn and apply new technologyAbility to read and interpret design standards, procedures, and safety rulesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong coordination and teamwork skillsProficient in basic computer skills (e.g., MS Office)Demonstrates good judgment, work ethics, and integrityExperience: 2–5 years of sheet metal design, equipment design, or design for manufacturabilityEducation/Certification: Associate degree or certificate in CAD design or Mechanical Design Engineering preferredPeople Management: NoPhysical Requirements / Work Environment: Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodationsReports To: CAD Supervisor or CAD ManagerThe Company provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, veteran status, ancestry, disability, genetic information, marital status, sex, pregnancy, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, political affiliation, or any other characteristic protected by law.
