CAD Administrator (Computer-Aided Dispatch)Location: Chicago, IL Work Model: Onsite Duration: 6 Months ContractPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced CAD Administrator to support and maintain a Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) environment for Public Safety, 911 Emergency Communications, Police, Fire, and EMS operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering CAD systems, supporting dispatch operations, maintaining CAD databases, configuring mobile applications, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with IT, GIS, and emergency response teams.This position requires strong technical expertise in CAD administration, Windows environments, SQL databases, GIS mapping, Mobile CAD, Records Management Systems (RMS), and public safety technologies.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister, maintain, and support Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Mobile CAD systems.Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain CAD software and related applications.Manage and maintain CAD databases, including streets, response locations, subdivisions, GIS mapping layers, and code tables.Configure CAD settings, user accounts, vehicle records, and system parameters.Monitor system performance and troubleshoot software, hardware, and user access issues.Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support to dispatch personnel and end users.Manage user accounts, permissions, and system security.Maintain hardware inventory, software licensing, and technical documentation.Generate operational, statistical, and management reports.Analyze CAD data to identify trends and improve operational efficiency.Collaborate with IT, GIS, Police, Fire, EMS, Records Management, and third-party vendors.Support integrations between CAD, Mobile CAD, RMS, GIS, GPS, and other public safety applications.Develop and maintain CAD administration policies, procedures, and documentation.Participate in software upgrades, testing, disaster recovery planning, and security initiatives.Provide end-user training and technical documentation as needed.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, or a related field (or equivalent experience).5+ years of experience administering Public Safety CAD systems.Experience supporting: 911 Emergency Communications, Police Dispatch, Fire Dispatch, EMS Operations.Experience with Windows-based CAD systems.Strong knowledge of Mobile CAD functionality.Experience managing CAD databases and system configuration.Experience with user administration, security, and permissions.Knowledge of GIS mapping, CAD mapping layers, and GPS technologies.Experience with software installation, upgrades, and system deployments.Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience with TriTech CAD Software (Highly Preferred)Experience with Records Management Systems (RMS)Experience deploying enterprise software solutionsTrainer or Instructor experienceLaw Enforcement, Fire, or EMS operational experienceAPCO membership or public safety communications experienceExperience integrating CAD and Mobile CAD applicationsTechnical SkillsComputer-Aided Dispatch (CAD)Mobile CADRecords Management Systems (RMS)Windows Server & Windows DesktopActive DirectorySQL DatabasesGIS MappingGPS TechnologiesEnterprise Software DeploymentSoftware Installation & ConfigurationDatabase AdministrationSystem SecurityUser AdministrationTechnical Support & TroubleshootingMicrosoft Office SuiteReporting & AnalyticsPreferred Industry ExperienceCandidates with experience in the following industries are highly preferred:Public SafetyEmergency Communications (911)Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP)Police DepartmentsSheriff's OfficesFire DepartmentsEMS AgenciesGovernment / Public Sector
