Hybrid schedule 4 days in office 1 day working from home - option.Job SummaryThe Enterprise Solution Architect is responsible for defining and governing the overall architecture across enterprise systems, with a primary focus on business applications including ERP, CRM, integrations, and custom application platforms, ensuring alignment between business strategy and technology execution. This position is based in Houston, TX and requires full-time onsite presence. Remote work is not available for this role.Essential Functions, Roles and ResponsibilitiesArchitecture Strategy & GovernanceDefine and maintain the enterprise apps architecture blueprint, standards, and reference modelsEnsure all solutions align with business objectives, technology strategy, and approved standardsLead architecture governance through design reviews, approvals, and architecture review board (ARB) participationEstablish integration, data, and security architecture standards across the organizationApplications Architecture & IntegrationDesign end-to-end solutions across business applications (ERP, CRM), integrations, and custom applicationsDefine integration patterns (APIs, event-driven, data pipelines) to ensure scalable and reusable architectureEnsure systems are designed for performance, security, high availability, and disaster recoveryProvide architectural oversight for application-centric initiatives such as ERP, CRM transformations, and internal application modernizationBusiness & IT AlignmentTranslate business capabilities and requirements into technology solutions and roadmapsOwn and drive the architecture strategy specifically for enterprise business applications (ERP, CRM, field service, and custom-built systems)Ensure applications are designed for usability, scalability, and alignment with business processesPartner directly with application owners, business stakeholders, and product teams to improve and evolve core business systemsDelivery & LeadershipGuide solution architects, developers, and vendors to ensure adherence to architecture standardsReview and approve high-level and low-level designs for major initiativesIdentify risks and ensure mitigation strategies are built into solution designsDrive consistency across projects to reduce technical debt and duplicationVendor & Technology ManagementEvaluate vendors, tools, and platforms to ensure alignment with enterprise architectureProvide architectural guidance to implementation partners and ensure quality deliveryManage technical dependencies and ensure interoperability across systemsHands-on Technical LeadershipAct as a hands-on architect when required, contributing to solution design, prototyping, and critical development effortsTroubleshoot complex issues specifically within business applications, integrations, and data flows between ERP, CRM, and custom systemsReview, write, and optimize code, scripts, and configurations to ensure alignment with architecture standardsProvide technical guidance during development, deployments, and production support, stepping in as needed to unblock teamsLead by example with a "player-coach" mindset, balancing strategic architecture with practical executionEducation, Training, ExperienceEducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field requiredMaster's degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration (MBA), or related disciplineExperience10+ years in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or senior engineering rolesExperience with ERP (Infor/SyteLine or similar), CRM (Salesforce), and enterprise integrationsStrong background in cloud architecture (Azure preferred), APIs, and data platforms (e.g., Databricks)Proven experience leading large-scale transformation initiatives (ERP, CRM, data modernization)Technical SkillsExperience in designing and supporting enterprise business applications (ERP, CRM, and custom-built systems)Strong understanding of application architecture patterns, domain-driven design, and business process modelingExperience with application-layer integrations and workflow orchestrationEnterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF or equivalent)Integration architectures (REST APIs, event-driven, microservices)Data architecture and governance (data modeling, pipelines, analytics platforms)Cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and DevOps practicesExperience with:Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)CI/CD with Azure DevOpsAPI and data integration patternsStrong understanding of:Data modeling (dimensional and normalized)Data governance and security (RBAC, lineage)Certifications, Licenses, RegistrationsPreferred CertificationsTOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) CertificationMicrosoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect ExpertMicrosoft Certified: Azure Administrator or Azure Developer (preferred)Certifications in enterprise architecture, cloud platforms, or integration technologies are strongly preferredCactus Companies is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
