Application Developer –Summit/C#Location: New York, NY (Hybrid) Duration: 8 monthsThe IT department, Business Technology Services is looking for an IT developer with Summit (Finastra) knowledge and C#. This is a Front to Back-office position within the FICT.
The role of the Application Developer is to develop (i.e.: program) pieces of software as per the sponsors' requirements. The delivered product will essentially comprise of a GUI (graphical user interface), an engine (i.e.: for calculation, decisions making, order passing, etc.) and a data component (i.e.: pull in, manipulate, store, push out). In compliance with the firm's software development policies, the Application Developer is providing software solutions that will allow the firm to increase its productivity and efficiency, streamline its processes, mitigate risk, remain compliant with the changing markets regulations and in turn build up its competitive advantageEssential Duties:Related to Fixed Income, Treasury and Credit business: Development: Gather, understand and analyze user requirements Turn these requirements into functional and technical specification documents outlining: o Business need(s) to be addressed o Software alternatives o Proposed alternative along with action plan and cost o Justification of the selected technologiesImplement, test, release and maintain/support the software solution in line with the agreed upon specifications support / maintenance: Troubleshoot applications, databases and processes as neededAssist users to make the best use of the delivered technologiesTrain users, colleagues and peers as needed Guidance & Project ManagementProvide guidance to more junior staff within the teamTake ownership of medium scale projects OtherReport comprehensive status to management on a regular basisWrite technical and functional documentation as neededContinue to develop technical skills and learn new technologies as neededQualifications:Minimum 3-5-year experience in implementation in the Finance industryDeep knowledge on Summit, must be familiar with products traded on Treasury, Credit business and Fixed Income (Repo and Bonds) is preferred.Must be familiar with Summit STP services for Front Office and back office as cashflows, accounting, operations and settlements workflows.Required: .Net Core development including C#, ASP.Net (MVC, REST interfaces using Web API), ASP.Net Core, IIS.Deep IT knowledge, the successful candidate must be able to review source code, write and execute SQL queries (Sybase, Oracle and SQL Server) and read/understand a script (Windows and Unix as Bash, Perl, Python). Deep of Summit metamodel is preferredKnowledge of Visual Studio, C++, C#, Infragistics, XML, XSLT, Excel VBAClient-side framework knowledge. Angular, and typescript Ability to analyze complex problems, with strong attention to detail and ability to provide solutions to problems.Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment on multiple applications.
