Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Buyer / Supply Chain Analyst to manage purchasing, inventory planning, and supplier relationships across assigned product lines. This role requires strong analytical skills, inventory management experience, supplier negotiation, and independent decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing and inventory performance for assigned product lines.
• Analyze demand, sales history, inventory levels, lead times, and open orders to determine purchasing requirements.
• Establish and adjust inventory min/max and replenishment parameters.
• Create and manage purchase orders with domestic and international suppliers.
• Monitor and resolve backorders, shortages, excess inventory, and slow-moving stock.
• Coordinate inventory transfers between locations.
• Support sales teams with supplier pricing, product availability, lead times, and special quotations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with international suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, MOQs, and other commercial conditions.
• Identify alternative suppliers and cost-saving opportunities.
• Manage supplier quality, delivery, warranty, and commercial issues.
• Coordinate international shipments with suppliers and freight-forwarding partners.
• Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier, pricing, lead-time, and inventory information in ERP systems.
• Use data and reporting to improve inventory availability and purchasing decisions.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and greater purchasing efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of purchasing/buying experience in industrial distribution, PVF, or a similar inventory-intensive environment.
• Experience with inventory planning and replenishment decisions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with demand, forecasts, lead times, and inventory data.
• Experience negotiating with international suppliers.
• International purchasing/import experience strongly preferred.
• ERP/MRP experience; Acumatica experience is a plus.
• Strong Excel and computer skills.
• Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through.
