Buyer - Aerospace Manufacturing
Location: Hartford county
Salary: Up to $115,000 annually (DOE)
Join a leading aerospace manufacturer as a Buyer responsible for sourcing direct and indirect materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring on-time delivery to support production and customer requirements. This role works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to drive cost savings, supplier performance, and inventory optimization.
Responsibilities

• Purchase direct and indirect materials while maintaining inventory levels and production schedules.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for pricing, quality, delivery, and lead times.
• Issue RFQs, purchase orders, and expedite materials to meet customer demand.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to support new product launches and production requirements.
• Analyze supplier performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with FAR , government contracting requirements, and procurement documentation.
• Maintain purchasing records within the ERP system and support inventory management activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of purchasing experience , preferably in aerospace or precision manufacturing.
• Experience with supplier negotiations, procurement, inventory management, and cost analysis.
• Understanding of machining, plating, heat treat, shot peen, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and customer specifications.
• Experience with Epicor ERP (or similar ERP systems) and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of government contracts and FAR requirements is a plus.
